Fog lights are...
2011 G37x Sedan. The data I have says they are H8, but when I search an auto part site it says H11. Are they the same? What is right?
I was looking at lights on ebay too and half the H8s say not compatible.

We have the same car. Mine are H8.
I see lots of bulbs being advertised as H8/H11 so maybe they are somewhat interchangeable? However, in doing a little research, I see that these bulbs are identical except 1 VERY important difference. The locking tabs. You can probably get an H8 to lock into an H11 socket (not sure) but the H11 has larger locking tabs and I doubt it would lock into an H8 housing.

If you mean you've used an H11 in your G, I guess the extra wattage drain that bulb takes did not blow your fuse, so it's all good.
I, personally, am going to try these led fog light bulbs:
H11 Philips LED bulb | H16 Philips LED bulb | H8 Philips LED Fog bulb
I know, expensive, but they put out almost twice as much light as an H8 halogen bulb and uses less than 10 watts.
Just for info -- H8 bulb is 35 watts while the H11 is a 55 watt bulb. The H11 bulb does put out more light than the H8.
