Passenger window motor/switch issue. Auto up and down not working.

Hey all!

Been a while since I've posted. My car has been doing great since I've bought it almost 3 years ago. Love it. However on two nights ago, someone busted my window, stole **** out of my glove box, and this was in the pouring rain. The inside of the car got pretty wet, but I dried that up quickly. Got the window replaced yesterday (thanking my lucky stars I got glass coverage) however now the auto up and down does not work.

The guy at the glass repair shop said that when he took the door panel off there was water inside and poured out of the switch. I'm guessing it's damaged. Being that they disconnected the battery I tried the down for 15 seconds, up for 15 seconds, reset for the windows but the passenger side still doesn't roll up automatically when you hold the switch up all the way. Same with rolling it down. Also when I open the door, it rolls down a bit like normal, but won't go back up when it's closed.

Is this a switch issue or a motor issue...is there a difference between the two. Sorry if this is a noob question. I just love this car and I was beyond pissed when someone vandalized it for my wallet (I usually keep it in my car when at the gym, not the smartest I know). I just want it back to normal.

Thanks in advance guys.

Not sure what's causing your problem, but if you have insurance, then you shouldn't have to either; just add it to your claim. If something was damaged in addition to the glass breakage, then it should be covered. Bottom line: just replacing the broken glass alone did not compensate you for your entire losses there (i.e. complete all necessary repairs).
