Idea for headlight painting/mod

I am thinking about getting my 08 G37 Coupe headlights painted black along with LED lights sort of like the 180 guys do. I want to remove the amber side reflector and HOPEFULLY get a piece of plexi-glass shaped to fit. Slap a LED strip behind it and hook it up to the DTRL. I am going for the new Audi LED strip look they have in their headlights. Any ideas on this a clear plastic that would be easy to fit into the reflector area and not look too awkward? I don't know what they use in the new Audi/Hyundai headlights to get the strip one solid brightness but this is the best way I can think of. I think it would look sick and be a lot cleaner looking than the traditional paint black and drill 6 or 7 LEDS into the stock reflector.

also, if anyone has a set of broken/damaged headlights that are going to be scrapped, let me know. I'd like to take the reflector into my shop to have something to work with instead of taking everything apart and then trying to make something on the fly.

Might want to post a WTB (Want to Buy) thread in the classifieds for scrapped headlights, you'd be surprised what some of these guys have stored away for rainy days.
