Under-engine splash guard feedback

My OEM plastic one is pretty much torn to shreds. Chicago city streets have proven too much for my Swift-lowered xS sedan. Been looking at the aluminum ones. Seems there are pretty much two brands. ZSpeeed and ToolBoothWilley

Just looking for feedback from anyone that has either one. Fitment/durability etc.

I had the ZSpeed cover on my G35 sedan for several years. Believe I paid just under $200 for it. It has an oil change trap door, so you didn't have to remove the shield each time. Fitment was 100% perfect. The holes were oversized, so plenty of wiggle room when first installing it with those plastic rivits. Easy to install yourself without a lift. A semi blew out a tire in front of my wife, she hit the "alligator" and ripped off the factory plastic. It was on national back order so I went with this, which in price was comparable to OEM plastic at the time. Hope this helps.

Be prepared though. I would guess that your plastic splash guard became destroyed from hitting the road, curbs, speed bumps, etc. Imagine how awful it will sound every time that happens with this new metal splashguard.

I had both the tollbothwilly one and the zspeed.

I just recently destroyed my first zspeed so I got another one great company and great product.

Both are nice. I feel the zspeed's oil trap door is more securely held. I did bang up the tollboothwilly and the zspeed . at one point the tollboothwilly's oil trap door kept getting unhinged if I scraped bad enough and would drag which was a PIA. I believe I had the tollbothwilly one when it was very early in production so it didn't fit over my hotckis sway bars properly but I believe its fixed now

Great. Thank you! I have Hotchkis too. I think the TBW has been updated also. But there were no issues with the ZSpeed?

I have the ZSpeed and love it.
It's only been 2 or 3 months, but fitment is perfect and I believe it is a quality piece.

Good to hear these clear the hotchkis!

I have been eyeing these both for a while - not sure if I want to pull the trigger.

What I am really thinking of doing is getting a large piece of thin sheet metal from lowes/home depot and fabricating my own underbody shield for the crappy winter to protect from all the salt she is going to see.

Even if it's kind of crude I could probably drill some holes and make some bends using the stock shield a template.

An afterthought though is maybe I could keep the OEM shield on and then add supplemental pieces that go over it using the same bolt/fastening points or some supplemental piece that cover other parts that I don't want to see salt. Overkill, I know but I had awful rust issues with a previous 6th gen maxima and don't want to revisit that world again.

Just spitballing here - thanks for the info guys!

had the same problem. just a heads up, I purchased one of the OEM plastic knockoffs on ebay. Fitment was 7 out of 10 but I made it work. I will say though that the material seems more durable than the OEM one.

Installed yesterday. As to be expected. It's an under-engine shroud. Fitment was just fine.
