Light sensitivity /Auto headlights

Is there a way to increase sensitivity threshold on the Auto headlights so they turn ON with more ambient light?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly certain that the light sensitivity is for when the lights turn off. For instance, on my way to work I pass through a bridge which activates my lights, on the longest setting they stayed on longer after I was through the bridge, when I turned down the sensitivity it still turned on, in practically the same place, but the lights turned off sooner.

I have actually observed that the sensitivity affects both how soon the lights turn on, and how soon they turn off.

I can't stand auto-headlights, go under an underpass and turn the lights on, dim my instruments, no thanks. On/Off fixes it for me.

I agree. There always seems to be some lag in both on or off when using the auto feature. I just do it myself, keeping me in charge.
