Clarity on the headlights

Hi All -

Need some clarity.. the headlight for 2010 G37x has..

HID, city lights, fog lights( not the bottom ones) and parking lights according to the manual.

I want to change the yellow factory lights to white colour... So I change the city lights? or "clearance lights" as it says in the manual. So the only time parking light turns on is literally when im parked? i noticed that the yellow factory light comes on when my HIDs turn on sometimes though..

Thanks!

city light, marker lights, parking lights all the same thing. They should turn on with the 1st turn of your headlight switch or in the auto mode they will turn on with the headlights.

No thats not true... different lights turn on when prior to you starting your car if its on "auto".

When i drive during the date with "auto" my left light does not work.. When im parked with the car not on.. both lights work. both are yellow.

There's likely more information on this in the lighting forum in the tech area. I doubt the lighting is specific to coupes.

Well since I never use auto & hate auto lights...Guess I don't know about that setting. That makes no sense that some lights don't come on in auto...I have had cars with auto lights & everything came on except fog lights. That had a separate switch to turn on & off.
I'll play with it tonight though. If no one chimes in I will tomorrow.

I don't know...maybe bad bulbs or incorrect ones, or an electrical problem?
I tested my car. 10 Coupe.
In auto all lights come on, both sides in acc, run & start modes.
When I switch on the lights to just parking lights in any mode the side amber lenses are on & taillights.
When I click on the headlights those come on & everything else stays on. Both sides.
The lights on the top section of the lenses are turn signals & only come on when you use the turn signals.
My count is 5 bulbs each side...HID, highbeam, turn signal, fog, parking/sidemarker(the 1 with the amber lense)
