Custom Interior / Reupholstery

I wanted to see if anyone had reupholstered their interior before and find out more about the effort that goes into it. Specifically, I want to reupholster all of the black foam/vinyl across the dashboard and all other correlating pieces of that material. The reason being, the sun has melted a large portion of it across the front of the dash right against the windshield. I no longer have warranty and I would imagine reordering the stock dash cover would be as expensive as having everything reupholstered in something nicer, right?

all input and knowledge welcome regarding custom interiors, I pretty much don't know anything at all in this area and am looking for some input. When I get some time i'll be heading over to a custom interior shop here for a price quote also.

idk about having a dash reupholstered as far as exact pricing goes, but I was looking into this on my 06 sedan due to sun damage as well and I was advised to remove the dash myself and take it in to be reupholstered and I would be saving a hefty penny.

I personally have black suede on my 2010 G37 sedan and also had it on my 2006 G35 sedan and it is an upgrade I recommend to anyone that is tired of the two tone interior...
Both of my G's had all black interior except for the headliner so I had it done to have all black interior and they painted my plastic panels black to match the rest of my black panels
