Looking to purchase these Osram D2S bulbs:

New Pair 2X OSRAM Xenarc D2S 66240CBI Cool Blue Intense 5500K HID Xenon Bulbs | eBay

This is half the price of what it normally costs...is it too good to be true?

Almost anything half regular price on eBay is usually too good to be true.

If you would only read the buyer feedback you'd see a negative feedback from earlier this month stating that the bulbs are fake.

 

if they are fake then you can return them.. no?
Atleast they are in the US and not Hong Kong

 

I saw that negative comment but then all the other positives..makes me wonder

What is the best way to know if it is a fake (aside from it just flat out not working or color just off)? I'm afraid it will work for like 3 months then just die out if it is truly a fake.

 

Too good to be true = fake ..... move on.

 

Hit or miss with eBay as far as returns (or with anything actually). eBay was great when it started up, mostly honest people. Now it's full of scams and knock-offs. After a fake Taylor Made Driver and Ugg boots ... I've moved on from eBay.
