so i changed out my foglamps to hid and also swapped out the DRL bulb for an led one. but now after i did those two things, DRLs only come on when the headlights are on and stay off during the day. any idea whats going? thanks

are you talking about the oem led drl next to the fog on the lower bumper? dont they have their own wiring?

edit: rereading your post i think ur talking about the city light, they only come on when switched on they are not drls.

 

Are your fog lights acting as your DRL?

I think Canadian G37s have some extra circuitry going on where the fog lights act as DRL. They come on if the car is started, and parking brake is released...and turn off with the car too.

If you turn your lights on, I think I read that the fog lights behave based on the fog light switch position...so if you turn off the fogs, when you turn on the lights...they turn off.

Regardless of the fog light switch position...the fog lights turn on when the headlights are off in these vehicles. Is that what the OP is referring to?

 

Before I switched to LEDs they were always on now they only come on when my headlights are on..... Dtrl=194 HID=D2S or something like that and the fogs are H11
..

 

Are you referring to this light? If so, it's not supposed to act like a drl. Was your car ever modified to make those drl lights?

Those lights only come on with the parking lights or headlights.
