Very nice, but...

"looks weird with aluminum trim...great with wood or carbon fiber."

^^I agree with this 100%. ***** are nice, but don't quite work with the Washi trim surrounding them. I prefer the black against the OEM trim. To each his own...

Just got mines.. luv the way it looks especially at night time (wood grain)

the **** is a lil slippery compared to factory. guess i will just have to adjust.

was contemplating on returning them due to the slippery but it looks so much better than factory. Carsmo FTW!!

I hate to drag this up from the depths, but this seems as good a place as any to ask: For those who have had these ***** for a while, are they holding up well or do they lose their shine after a while? Also, are they really worth the $60 new or $40 used (that i have seen just a few times on the classifieds)?

yes, mine do this also. I didn't apply enough force to try to pull it off like you did, but when the car is cold, the **** doesn't "catch" and just keeps spinning like it's loose. Since I warm up the car in the cold season prior to driving it, I don't really get that issue. But when the car is cold, the **** doesn't even adjust the volume on the radio and I am forced to use my steering wheel controls. I haven't tried to pull one off to try to figure out why it does that, so I'm not sure exactly why this happens. Looking at your photo though, I think I can see why it happens. Regardless, they still look super fresh after a few months of ownership

A small bead of silicone inside each **** to hold the two pieces together could be an easy cheap fix.

Got mine today. A little late for me to go out and play with the car. I'll install them while I am stopped in heavy traffic.

Of course it would be, but that doesn't change much for OP now. My $4 ebay metal ***** hold tight in the cold so far.

Have the cold weather grip issue too when first starting on a cold day. Little tip I just figured out this morning.. Pull the **** out just a hair and for whatever reason it grips better. The more you know.
