noticed this light last night - on the overhead console, near the sunroof controls. what is it for? couldn't find in the manual.

 

Ambient lighting. So its not pitch black in the cabin. Our RDX has two of them.

 

Yeah, mostly just ambient light. On the 6MT it also illuminates the etching of the shift pattern a bit.

 

That is what I initially thoguht but with all the lights on the dash, instruments, radio, air conditioner controls, nav i thought surely not.

Most new cars has one now.

Its kind of nice to have just that little light so the passenger doesn't need to to switch on the light for everything.

I never have to rely on the tiny light to find out what gear I am in though ... LOL

LOVE that light -- I see/do 90% of what needs seen/done with it. Most dont notice til I point it out. I know other manufacturers have different colors but I prefer ours

I know the 07' V36 sedans have two of the. I've noticed that the newer G's only have one.

 

Anyway to turn it off? I hate that lil light!!

Edit* found my answer?? It can't be deactivated...that sucks..it really annoys me..I'll figure out how to cover it up. Thanks anyways
