Fog Light Replacement

Hi all,

Well, I found a crack in my passenger side fog light and thought I would just order a new one and do the old swap-a-roo. It was a PIA to get to the point where I could actually even get to it. Once I got to it though, I had a hard time with those stupid clips on the chrome bezel. I eventually was able to get the chrome bezel (and the cracked fog light) out but when I did, a couple of the bezel's clips broke off.

So, I ordered one of those ($22 on ebay). Are there any tips when I get this part to not break those dang clips again?

So far, I'm into this project about $70 ($48 for the new fog light and $22 for the chrome bezel) which I assume would still be cheaper than going to the dealer.

If I screw this bezel up, it might be time to let the dealer just do it. Will they use the new fog light I have or will they force me to buy one from them?

Thanks.

What year is your car? When I replaced mine I had a hard time with the right side but mine had a small nut in the back not clips. But once I got it out it was easy for me to put it back together. The left side took like 10 mins to do and I was done. I have a '12 G37S maybe it was different on a earlier model not sure...

It's a 2012 Journey.

I tried pushing in those damn clips from the inside (laying under my lifted car) but man, was it hard to push those clips in (the red clips that surround the chrome bezel). I pushed from the inside and those stupid clips just sort of snapped off. I'm still not an expert on that crap. It just seems there are about a thousand better ways to make that more accessible and easier to swap out.
