I dont think that it is real leather. It feaux leather or whatever they call it. Im pretty certain that no cows were harmed in the making of our cars.

 

The dealer here in Nashville area said Infiniti will replace it once under warranty so I had themmake a note of mine and will hàve them do it later. For the meantime use Meguairs leather cleaner and conditioner. Wish I'd done it from the beginning.

 

It's a seat.. You sit on it and after time it'll wrinkle/crease.. That is unless you weigh 10 pounds.. Get used to it.. Even if they replace it.. It'll happen again.. Mines looked like **** after 3 years..

 

It's leather and, like people, it will get some wrinkles and wear marks in it with use. I bought my car used and the leather had some noticeable wear marks and even some nicks in it. I've conditioned it several times now and in my opinion the leather is a very good quality and durable enough to handle many years of wear. Minor issues like that don't bother me.

 

Unfortunately this is something that can't be avoided unless you don't sit in your seat. An over time it may still happen if you don't ever sit in it. Just the characteristics of material and time.

 

Technically it's leather seating surfaces, aka the part your back & butt touch .... the rest is faux. This has been the standard for a long time so read the fine print when they say "leather seats"

 

The pictures are not from sitting in it though so my concern is that it may it and finish defect from not being sewn properly. If it was from normal wear and tear then it would be a non issue.

Looks like normal wear and tear. I own a detailing business, I see all kinds of seats, BMW, Porsche, Bentley, GT-R, and for the most part the leather is the same. You will naturally cause creases in it. Heat will affect the leather. Even Ferrari seats have issues such as this, just to a lesser extent.

And BMW is 10x worse, trust me. Stop nit-picking about the leather and enjoy your car.

 

I have to agree with Scoe on this one. If you look at some of his pictures it looks more than just normal wear and tear from sitting in it. It looks more like the leather pieces were not in proper position before sewing.

I agree that the leather in our seats wrinkle prematurely however his seat looks like the sew job was done wrong. How can his seat wrinkly from sitting in it when a portion of the seat that has a sew defect is nowhere near where our asses touch. Its all the way in the corner on the upper back portion. I am referring to picture 1.

I would bring it in and have it done right as your defects are not normal wear and tear.

 

Some of the problem could very well be from sewing but some of it could also be from poor assembly. the leather "A" surface is actually glue to a layer of foam (approx. 3/16") and the foam has a scrim backing. The combination of the foam and scrim gives the leather some stability and should reduce the amount of wrinkling.
