Drivers Window

Just got this car two weeks ago and went to a shop to get the windows tinted. The shop is reputable and has done numerous cars for me in the past. Problem is.. Now my drivers window is out of track and won't roll down. I plan on going to talk with the guy the tint shop tomorrow, but if he can't find a simple solution I'm worried about wether or not it will be fixed under warranty.. Any similar experiences or advice?

Well I would get insitant with the tint shop, wasn't broke when you brought it in. Get them to fix and re-tint if they have to (goober it up during the fix). Be nice at first, present your case and see where it leads. If they wash their hands of it, open a case with the BBB and let them know you are doing that.

My guess is, warranty won't cover. They say it was broken during a MOD procedure, not a defect with the car.

Are you sure the lock switch isn't on? The passenger window rolls down but not the driver window? I have made the mistake in the past of thinking my windows weren't working but it turned out the lock button was pushed. Tint installers will often push the lock button to keep you from rolling the windows down until the tint has had time to cure. That being said, it is doubtful they removed your door panel or did anything that would have caused your window to be out of track. Possible, but not likely.

I didn't know the window lock also controlled the driver's side. I just thought it was for passenger windows..

It's definitely the drivers window.. I reprogrammed the window so it now goes up and down.

However, now I turn the car off and get out. The window opens a little to clear the recess and I close the door. Normally the window automatically goes up to close the gap.. Mine doesn't.. It remains open just a little. Also, the auto up feature on the drivers side doesn't work.

This is driving me nuts!
