Help Help: Painting Calipers, Tails
Hey guys,
So I have a black 2010 G37xS sedan and was looking to paint the calipers and tint/paint the tail lights. I was aiming at trying to match the same shade of red as the "S" emblem (sort of like a blood red color). From what I have read, just a basic red caliper paint would do the trick for the calipers right, and it would just be a matter of applying multiple layers until that shade is reached? Would I have to mix in a black or darker shade in order to get it dark enough to match the "S" emblem?
As for the tails, should I go with the Gunsmoke Lamin-x tint, or just apply one layer of the VHT Nightshade paint per the DIY on the forum? Is it possible to apply a dark red paint to the tails, and have no problem of seeing the tail lights through it (afraid that if the tint/paint is too dark, I'm just asking to get rear-ended and it being "my fault"; at the same time, however, I agree that our tail lights are too red)?
Before I get yelled at to do some research and search the forums (trust me, I have for months now), I'm just wondering if anybody has tried to do this setup before or if anybody can give some insight at all (especially on a black G). Pictures and feedback of any kind are appreciated. Thanks guys!

Or if trying to match the shade of the emblem is too hard, is it possible to paint the emblem to match the red of the tails, and then just paint the calipers the same red? Anybody experiment with this? Anybody ever paint their emblems (not pasti-dipped)? Any help would be great!

Right after install with lights on

Daytime

Nighttime

I'm planning to paint my calipers red or silver and was considering going with G2 Caliper Paint (epoxy)...closest to powder coating.
G2 does sell custom colors that will match the "S", but cost $99 for their custom kit.
Since I'm leasing, I've been debating if it is worth the trouble.
