I'm on a 09 G37 coupe, and I'm on "extended warranty" as of now.

So, I've discovered this weird wet/dry spot in my rear passenger side seat. I don't bring/allow drinks in the car, so no way anyone spilled anything in the back seat. So in the beginning when i was cleaning my car, i spotted a sticky back seat. I tried cleaning with lexol products with not much result. I didn't care too much since this is the back seat, but I've neglected it too long now.

On hot days, the spot is not smooth dry, and on cold days, its "sticky". Theres also a bump you can feel/see. Can you guys give me any advice on how to fix this issue? Can i remove the back seat to clean it? Is there anything under the bottom back seat that can leak?


My 2nd issue, the driver seat. I've complained to the dealer before, and they said its still okay, come back when its ripped and they will replace. So now, its not ripped its just "flat" with no structure. Does this still fall under warranty? I find it just wrong that the leather is this crappy. I attached the picture to show the differences.

I can take this all back to the dealer, and "try" to claim warranty, but what can i say? They are just going to say its my fault

 

There is fuel pumps and senders under the back seat.

No extended warrantys will cover interior items, sorry...

 

I recall being that the Infiniti Elite Extends Protection plan extends everything on the normal warranty to 7years. I got the new in car Feb 2010. I've looked around and i don't see any guide for removing the back seat. Is it really just pull up and the seat comes off?

 

NJ has a good point. wonder if the pump is leaking. i think it's exactly where that circle stain is. and it being sticky would make sense if gas is hitting the glue holding the seat together.

jesus...hope it's not that. i would have your seat pulled immediately and have it checked. IF that's what it is, it should definitely be covered under warranty....especially if something fuel related failed and caused that.

 

I was able to yank the passenger side up to take a peak, but unable to yank both sides up. It feels like i'm going to bend the metal clips. The wet spot looks like it goes down to the foam, and is "dry". I touched the bottom plate + padding and it feels drys.

If it was the fuel pump, wouldn't i be able to smell gas? I doubt my noise is that jacked up, but i don't smell any gas on inside.

 

Interior trims and exhuasts being one of the none covered items... ask me how I know

 

Aye, I'm looking through the extended warranty policy and it doesn't say interior trim is excluded or I can't find it. So how do you know?

And then, how did you fix it? I just want my leather cleaned & dried out . No way i'm gonna shell out $$$ to get a replacement rear seat.

 

as far as i know they consider the car seats as a wear and tear never hurts to call the dealer and ask
