Large Dent/Crease in Rear Fender

Good Morning Everyone,

I have attached a picture which shows the dent that on the rear fender of my 2011 G37x Pearl White. A dent and crease exists right next to the bumper and tail light.

To give some background, I backed into a cement block that was so short I could not see it . I now need to replace my taillight and possibly my fender.

This is a lease, therefore I have to have this repaired prior to my lease end. I don't want to go through insurance as I have a high deductible.

I have went to a few shops for estimates and the estimates have been $1500-$2000.

What does everyone think? I apologize for the picture not being of best quality.

Thanks!

Not sure what your question is...!

What do I think? I think it sucks this happened! If you asking about the quote, think it is reasonable for the damage. The rear qtr panel is large and equally expensive. The brake light housing needs to be replaced and your bumper looks to be gouged and may need to be refinished. All in all, 1.5k to 2k is what I would expect on the low end!

I had a 2001 civic that someone backed into on the passenger side door. Honda quoted me 1.4k to replace the door panel. This is an Infiniti and I would expect it to be much more to replace.

Maybe someone else knows the exact $ figures for those two parts and a paint job in the bumper.

Good luck!

Think about what? It looks like you need a tail light and to repair the rear quarter panel like you said. You got an estimates already. What is is that you are asking?

I was just curious if you guys thought those prices sounded about right.

Does anyone know if it's possible to have an insurance claim a few weeks after this happened?

No idea if that price it reasonable where you are (wherever that is). Prices vary by area and by shop, some are more than others and some work is better than others. Ask around locally and find a shop that's reputable and pay what they charge you.

Yes you can file an insurance claim weeks after it happened.

I totaled my 350Z and I was told it would probably cost me $1200 for deductible plus increased premiums for 3 years. Based on that you would be money ahead to have them fix it. Have you looked into one of those paintless dent repair places? I can't tell how bad the crease is. If they can repair it you could buy the tail light at a discount and install that yourself.

The color that your car is is what makes repairing more expensive a three stage car will always be more expensive
