GTR Tail Light Idea

Ok, I was just thinking about how we get our tail lights done like the GTR's (Tinted to look that way). I think it looks pretty cool and have wanted to do it to my 09 PG Sedan for awhile.

My idea is though, instead of tinting the tail lights, why not consider painting them the body color to really make it look like GTR lights. Unless its a black car, when you tint them, it just doesn't blend. If you were to paint them body color, you would just see the circle tail lights and that is it (just like a GTR)

Just throwing this out there to see what you guys think. My uncle is a body man and could paint them for the cost of supplies. So wouldn't really cost me much. I may try it out to see what it looks like.

I don't think that would look good. It may look OK if you are standing directly behind the car, but when looking at them from the side you will be able to see into the tail light and it will be obvious that the lenses are just painted. It would look cheap and tacky IMHO

Man, I know there is a white coupe that I saw pics of a few times a WHILE back with this idea actualized... I will start digging for pics.

Worst case maybe you can post up a pic and a photochopper can help...

yea, that would be cool if you could find pics. I don't want to do a vinyl overlay and thought paint would look more like the real thing. I do like the tint idea, but almost defeats the purpose of making if look like a GTR.
