So replacing any part that improves aerodynamics of a car should probably just be left primer under this understanding? I think you may have your definition of the word "rice" a bit confused...

Keep us posted OP, I agree this is a better looking cover than our current OEM one. I had to "rice" mine up a bit to enjoy it.

 

Yea i must be super rice too cause i had my headlights painted. RaulG is epic rice cause he paints headlights for cash on the side. Darn rice distributors lol

I think its some sort of external power supply to keep the battery from draining during car shows

 

More likely a power wire for the electric motor system since it is a Hybrid

FYI wings and lip spoilers *IF EFFECTIVE* dont start generating downforce until highspeeds.

 

I am the one who said something about aerodynamics as it is a functional part of a car and simply applied your definition and logic of the word rice to it... and it actually turned it into what rice in fact usually is considered (ironically)(cars riding down the street with unpainted aero kits)... Or at least more commonly accepted as rice compared to your conflicting definition.

The idea of function or the idea that you specifically stated of upgrading a car to perform better means to either improve it in a way to allow it to achieve higher speeds at a quicker rate or to increase the speed at which it is able to perform other functions such as cornering, etc... so for you to discount aerodynamics that can direct airflow even at lower speeds through the proper functions of the car to make it perform better is a bit short sided.

Either way, painting functional parts to improve their appearance is not IMO "rice" and there is no point to jump in a thread and change someone's post for it...

In the end I have wasted my time arguing a subjective point of "what is rice" but my thoughts expressed are at least worth it to me as you seemingly came into this thread only to stir the pot and change someone's post with an idea of your own that is inherently contradicting in it of itself...

 

i'm pretty sure everyone agrees with you CCG. as you said, arguing with certain individuals isn't worth the time it takes to relieve one's self.

Rice = anything bought at Walmart , Pepboys or Autozone to "improve" the looks of your car ...... IMHO of course.

 

fixed that for you . I kinda define it as anything to make your car look fast/sound fast that doesn't actual help either one. (stickies aka pasties, gaudy graphics, spoilers that dont produce down force, fart cannons, etc.)

I don't feel that changing the engine cover makes the car look faster. I feel it makes it look nicer and more appealing; but definitely not faster.

 

CCG, thats your opinion BUT as i stated before, body kits, spoilers etc have absolutely NO function until you go fast + 90mph in most cases. PLUS with that added downforce comes degraded fuel economy and increased tire wear...None of you here have track cars and non of you have drag cars, almost 95% of the G's ive seen have little to no FUNCTIONAL mods.

Let me tell you something, ive had 3 eagle talons and 2 evos in my lifetime and im only 24, ive done all the work to them my self from little easy jobs like brakes/oil to engine build/tranny rebuilds. This includes tuning and fabrication as well. The slowest of my cars ran 11.4@128mph. The fastest was my last eagle talon 10.2@139mph....and guess what ? NO body kits or wings or spoilers because that **** weighs too much.

I was only stating how i felt there was no need to flame and no need for ignorant/childish responses from people like rad_slinger

Cant argue with those that don't even do real work to their cars nor have any REAL accomplishments under their belts.

I agree .... not all cosmetic changes are rice. We hall have seen houses nicely decorated for Christmas and houses that are "rice"
