FYI: Later model G37's require D4S HID bulbs!

I found out from my friend who sells HID kits and HID replacement bulbs that the 2012+ uses D4S headlight bulbs...not D2S.

I'm not sure exactly which year Infiniti started changing the ballasts that use the D4S.
This is the reason for some of you having problems with flicker and power on.

I decided not to replace my OEM bulbs, but to just change my fogs to 4300k HID instead...want the better light output!

I hope this helps!

Toyota and Lexus use D4S.
Infiniti and Nissan use D2S.

If that is the case, then I don't have an answer why the problems with some of the aftermarket bulbs don't function correctly.

I'm just playing it safe and staying with the OEM HID bulbs!

Unhappy

Mods please close this thread...
Sorry for the mis-information.

I was only sharing what my friend told me.
He thought that Infiniti switched to D4S bulbs like Lexus and that was the cause of the aftermarket problems with the G37s.

This is not based on my own experience, but others on this forum.
I have not "tried" replacing my HID headlight bulbs, but instead decided to keep the OEM 4300k HID headlight bulbs and install matching 4300k HID fog lights.
