How to remove center console?

Hi everyone,

I just picked up an 08 g37s coupe, and I'm absolutely loving the car. The interior is very comfortable and suitably understated. The only thing I dislike is the brushed aluminum look. I figured that by now someone for sure figured out how to remove the center console? I want to take all of the brushed aluminum pieces, apply CF wrap, then clearcoat.

Any DIYs (didn't find anything through the search) available?

I guess these steps will be similar when working on a 6MT?

Anyone done this yet? I find it hard to believe that its just the ziptie that is holding the shifter handle on...
