As the owner of coupe in general, is this something we have to accept? This is the first coupe I have ever owned and I was caught off guard by the affect of not having running boards.

People are terrible at parking and opening their doors. Even if I owned an old crapbox, I would not want it getting hit or others hitting it.

 

Either coat the doors in clear plasti-dip or get clear bra which is like clear tint film. You don't have to live with the dings


Just try to park as far away from people as you can in the mean time.

 

Either of those options won't do much for dents.

I always park away from people but it seems like someone always parks next to me. Now I try to park next to barriers to at least get one side free.

One time a volvo parked no more than 6" on one side. Obviously on purpose.

 

if you have to park near 1 car, do it on their passenger side since chances are, if there' isn't a passenger, that door wont open

 

Yup! That why I get excited when I see a single spot with a barrier on the right side!
