3000k foglights look white

I just installed these:
Amazon.com: Kensun HID Xenon Conversion Kit Amazon.com: Kensun HID Xenon Conversion Kit "All Bulb Sizes and Colors" with Premium Ballasts - H8 - 3000k - 2 Year Warranty: Automotive

I bought the "digital slim" balasts, but the kit instead came with the "premium" aka "large metal boxed" ballasts.

Install went fine, I used a wiring harness to connect power directly to the battery. They seem to light up fine, but one problem...

Although they do shoot yellow light, they look white from straight on. I'll try to take pics tonight, but I wanted to see if anyone has come across this problem before. I had a is300 before, and loved the yellow fog look and wanted to try to replicate it. Now I have halogen looking fogs, that shoot yellow light.

Do you think it could be a ballast problem, power problem (maybe harness has too thin gauge of wires), or bulb problem?

Here are pics I found on google to explain:

It's quite normal. To get the yellow look straight on you need the yellow film to go over the lens.

Okay, I know my is300 had a yellow lens, but was just surprised how white the 3000k bulb came out.

I was about to buy some morimoto bulbs to see if that helped, so thanks for saving me some $$$!

Lamin-x makes yellow film cover for fogs. Not only will it make it look yellow straight on it will also protect the glass from debris/cracking.
