I have nothing against Plastidip, as I would use it for small things, but hey, its a crazy world out there lol

 

Exactly what I was thinking... Won't Plastidip be affected by the sun? I don't know how it will react to road debris and weird liquids splattering on it. Will it cause stains?

Thanks boys for the feedback. I'm going to get this done in the next few weeks. Just have some other priorities (new tires) before I go on with the entire project.

I've been surprised at how great the first coat has been holding up (considering its only one coat.) It does seem more sensitive to dirt, but the nice thing is that once all the coats are applied, I can also apply a clear coat that will protect the plasti-dip. Best part about all this: I can remove it at any time.

I'm personally curious as to what will happen in the snow. I live in Connecticut, and this car isn't garaged all the time. I guess there's only one way to find out

 

Yes, its actual possible. I mean, I know the paint has clear coat to protect it from the sun, but Im not much aware of Plastidip. But road debris is a factor as well. But I would want to see final pictures though.

I feel like bugs stuck to the front bumper would cause a problem. Scrubbing it would remove the dip I would think. And as someone else said, I can see paint damage being a factor long term.

 

There is a special cloth that you can buy that doesn't stick to nor does it leave debris on plasti-dip coated surfaces.

Interesting. I saw that plasti dipped white Audi on that forum and it looked pretty good lol. I just couldn't imagine plasti dipping a car like that or a G for that matter. Craziness.

 

Do whatever you like OP. It's the same as seeing cars with Autobot and Decepticon emblems lol. Doesn't bother me.
