HID Headlights - Problem or Normal?
My '12 37XS is the first car I've owned with the HID headlights. I noticed over the weekend that when I hit a bump on the road, the projected light seems to shake briefly. The best way I can describe it is like there's a loose filament in the bulb, shaking independently of the lamp itself.
Anyone else ever notice this? I have never experienced this with any of the cars I've owned. Thanks!

Do you have AFS? (Adaptive Front lighting System). Maybe the modules have somehow become loose? (although your car is pretty new to have this type of problem already, but you never know...) I have that system in my car but haven't noticed that really, maybe haven't gone through big bumps at night.
Is it only one side, or are both headlights doing it?

I checked out other forums and it seems to be a widely reported problem, with the cause generally either loose fitting bulbs or reflectors. Many say they just live with it.
Thoughts? I can't imagine that no one else has not experienced this.
I've gone through speed bumps and humps before but did not notice any headlight shaking. Since your car is pretty new, I'd take it to the dealer and let them deal with it.
Hope they find the issue right away!

Not too sure as I don't notice this in mine either but if you went over a bump pretty hard unknowingly ...like you mentioned it might have loosen the connection....in any case just take it to the dealer and make a good use of the warranty!....cheers!
Never on the G but definitely on my IS. It does not bother me but yours is brand spanking new and I understand the need to have it perfect. Take it to the dealer and they should be able to correct it. If bad enough, it can be a safety issue due to its distracting you while driving at nights. Be calm and stress that point to the dealer.
Good luck!

My G does this from time to time. You have to pay careful attention to it to notice. Its not really big bumps that make it worse, sometimes big bumps don't do it at all. I'd almost describe it as random, but not sitting still. I've had different sets of headlights in my G and both have done with 2 different sets of bulbs. So I'm willing to call it normal. I have lower fogs in the bumper, and with them on, I don't notice the movement of the Projector or whatever it is in the headlight. And IIRC its only the passenger side.
