Windshield cracked in half !

The story of the day

I went to work and parked my car in a sunny spot like I normally do.After work I decided to give it a quick wash in an automated car wash. So when the water started to sprinkle I see a big crack going from top to bottom!!!
First I didn't believe thought it was some long hair or "smthng but not the crack but it was..... (

So I started talking with my friends about this, and what they say caused it is a small rock chip on the tinted area right on the top of my windshield that I didn't even see cos of the black shade

Basically you have to fix it right away, even the superglue will help for a white before you can get it done by professionals.
What caused my windshield to crack is instant change of the temperature on the top glass that went from that chip, after being on sun for 5 hours.

I called the insurance right away to see what they can do. Fortunately with the coverage I have they said that they will take care of that .

To sum it up. I wanted to replace the windshield anyway cos it had so many highway rock chips.... especially in the sun u can see everything, that's what really annoyed me cos the car is in really good condition and windshield is messed up...
Appointment set up on this Saturday, they will come to my house and do the job

here is the crack....

Not just the sun heating it up but even normal driving stress on the chassis will cause the crack to grow.

Make sure they do the job right. Do some research on how windshields should be installed and make sure the techs are doing it correctly.
