Need some advice on what is the best way to take out the gray assembly in the picture below:



I am having a hard time trying to twist this thing off. Any advice guys? Is there a special tool that is needed to twist this out?

The little pointy tab gets pull back lightly as push in the base and you turn left.

 

so that pointy tab and turn it counter clockwise?

YOUR RIGHT!! Thank you for the tip!! The tail light plastic etching near the bulb says to turn it clockwise, so I figured I needed to turn it in that direction. lol.

 

Any arrows that you find in any assemblies mean that's the direction you turn to lock it in place. To remove, always do the opposite.
