Hey guys! I know this is going to sound completely absurd but here goes. I bought my G with the stone interior because the deal was too hard to pass up. I have a buddy who has a G with black interior and i love the look if it. Ive come to the conclusion that I want to set out on this journey to swap my interior for black interior. with that being said, whats the best route i should go so i can swap the parts out? ebay? i know I'm gonna get "why didn't you just get a G with black interior when you bought it?" again, i couldnt pass up the deal. I don't mind spending money here and there as long as i make it happen. I searched the forum and saw DPE G did it so I'm looking to do it too! Kind of excited for the transformation. How should i go about this? thanks a lot guys
thanks for the response! i searched for the seats on ebay and found a few. i imagine the carpet is going to be the hardest to change.. cringing even thinking about it aha
no kidding? feel a lot better now. thought that was going to be a real pain. for the simpler stuff (door panels etc) i could probably do on my own. but for the carpet, seats and what not ill most likely have to find a shop. thanks again guys

Honestly unless you can get all the parts cheap at a recycle yard or ebay and such, I would do something different with your interior and customize to fit your personality rather than just get another black stock (boring) interior. Go to a good upholstery shop and have them make you custom interior which will give your car some pizzaz. I mean you're going through all this expense and effort, do something different.
I just hate monochrome interiors on cars. Especially the G's. It's a great design and has some great potential so take advantage of the lines of the interior and give it something that will blow the socks off everyone who sees it. You only live once dude.
My 91 NSX came in all black on the interior and I found that a little boring. Eventually I added simple but distinctive changes to the door side panels by matching them to the red exterior color. I also changed the shift boot from black to red. If I could find some nice red carpet pre-formed, I would swap it as well but it's not available. I will upgrade my seats with some new leather covers with the centers being red while the outside is black. That should be enough. Too much would be distracting.
My 2012 G37S has a stone interior and at least the upper dash is different in color than the lower section. Eventually I'll be looking at enhancing it some way by swapping out the aluminum trim to the dark cherry trim which is an option for the car. Need to find that at a recycle yard or ebay because from the dealer it's toooo expensive.
Also might do something to the bottom of the doors area I think. Still working on something. JMO

thanks for the idea! to be honest, i always thought the black was something that i would really like when sitting in the car. but i definitely like the idea of different color things in the interior. i have a liquid platinum (silver) exterior so dont know what color would compliment that for interior parts
You're in SoCal right?
So why don't you try Katzkin In Montebello?
They do custom work.

going custom would be cheaper than buying new parts from the dealer and its going to be a painful process finding all the necessary parts you'd want in a different trim color. if custom doesnt interest you, going to a junk yard and finding a bashed up g37 with the desired black interior should also be much cheaper than going new through a dealer. good luck!
hey guys thanks so much for the responses! feels great being in a community with helpful people. when you guys mention custom, what are some ideas if you dont mind me asking? and mystakin, going to a junkyard would be a good idea, but what are the chances of finding a G with black seats there? and Zoster33, that place looks awesome! it runs for over 2100+ so its kind of in the same range. I think my best bet is finding used oem seats and part for my interior.
