Are the back seats leather?

I spent some time cleaning/condition my interior this weekend and I keep running into the same problem....which areas of the back seats are leather and which are vinyl? Eventhough we'd like to believe there's lots of leather back there something makes me think they are mostly vinyl. I say this because the rear seating surfaces just don't have the same touch, feel and look as the surfaces on the front seats.

What parts, if any, of the rear seats are leather?

Usually the areas that "touch" you are leather but a quality cleaner like Leatherique will work on all surfaces. It's still better than paying over $40K for a car with Leatherette.

Eventually I would like to incorporate suede inserts on at least the front seats.

Mine are full leather.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
How do you know?

Lots of discussion on these boards leads towards much of the seat being vinyl (center arm rest, side panels, headrest, center panel, etc) but I can't find anything definitive on the center perforated sections.

Additionally most folks believe that the center perforated panels on the front seat are leather but the sides, back, headrest, etc are vinyl.

Per Infiniti website:

"Leather-appointed seating"

What does that mean? I am wondering.

It means they weren't 'elected'.

Again no one seems to know for sure but consensus is that it means the parts that touch you (i.e the front facing panels) but again I'm not sure that the perforated panels in the back look or feel the same as the front so I'm wondering if they are leather and therefore is anythign leather in the back??

Depending on what year did you get, Mine 2011 brand new one equipped with full leather.
Somehow I think 09s and earlier might have 85% leather not too sure.

Very few auto manufacturers use 100% full leather seats...

All the faces seem like leather to me. Don't know about the vertical pieces. Seems like that would be where the fake stuff would be.

A decent leather cleaner will clean vinyl just as well. A decent vinyl cleaner will clean leather just as well.

I'm not sure what is cow butt and what is not, but I try to not think about cow butts when I think of my car anyway.

Careful, 'vinyl cleaner' most likely won't have the oils leather requires to prevent drying and cracking.

My 4year old leather seats were like new when I returned it. I use leather cleaner and conditioner 6 times a year, front and rear. The seats seemed to 'absorb' the conditioner so I'm leaning towards them being leather.
My new seats seem to be the same as my 07, just a different colour. I went from Wheat to Graphite.
