Scratchy, electrical sound from light sensor?

Hi all,

2010 G37 Journey, 9500 miles, all of a sudden I have a "scratchy sound' coming from what I believe is a "light sensor" (circular in shape, drivers side, front dashboard under windshield, faces upward). Is it a "light sensor?" Looks like one .. First I thought it was something loose with the windshield - then, perhaps something loose in a fan/blower for the defroster? Sounds like a "scratchy mouse" and seems to react even more while driving when the lights are on. centered on the the steering wheel, where it meets the windshield - maybe a bit left. REALLY annoying! Bad solenoid on the "sensor?" Loose glue on the windshield / dash ? Help ?? Thanks for ANY responses!
