Anyone know anything about the seats?
Infiniti bills the G37 as a luxury sport coupe and at $40k avg it has the price tag to match.
Luxury - something desirable but expensive.
Seat bubbling is not luxurious. Seat bubbling on a $20k car, fine. On a $40k "luxury" sport coupe? Not so much.

I'm sure the majority of people who get the bubble do not take it to the dealer to be looked at. On these threads alone there seems to be quite a few, let alone in the more "casual" population. Perhaps corporate hasn't had enough repairs to think its big enough of an issues. They have to cut corners to make a car that is in 335 territory without the same cost. Maybe a few hundred or thousand letter/phone calls to corporate might get something changed for future owners if someone wants to try to organize it from the forum.
I dont want to open a can of worms here and this might have been discussed already but after having a very reputable leather guy look at the seats he has told me it is caused by the foam used not the leather. He does a lot of work with dealers including Infiniti and has seen a large share of these seats. He tells me the reason it will continue is the density of the foam used. I am sure someone on here has information or thoughts on this.
For those who say it's not that big of a deal, I have a daily driven 2008 Ford Explorer with leather seats. Garage kept just like the G, gets more seat time than the G, and the seats are perfect.
I have a 2010 G that's not daily driven and it has a left arsecheek bubble. I don't even drive with my wallet in my back pocket.
This should NOT be happening in a $40k car.

Every car has its quirks. When I had my DSM's they all suffered from crunchy transmissions and leaky valve cover gaskets. The MS6 was known to have bad turbo seals that would make your car smoke the second you upgraded the exhaust, creaky moon roofs, crunchy transmissions, leaky transfer case, weak rear end mounts, weak motor mounts, and other little things. My car ren though it was a very early 06 model (#317 of 10000) had little to no issues except the turbo went bad at 47k miles which is why I wanted to trade it.
The point? People like to talk about the bad things that's why when you go a model specific car forum you will see all these "ongoing" issues but that os pretty much the same with most cars.

my seats came all bubbled up after I bought my used 2008 G. It is still under warranty. A week after buying it I noticed the housing for one of the side mirrors was cracked, apparently the previous owner hit someting. Took it back and they replaced it no probs. I asked if they could do anything about the seat bubbling and they said "probably not". Should they be able to replace it or can they refuse to do it because i bought it like that?
If you think its hardly noticeable then we are not on the same page. Mine is noticeable and ugly. I mean I dont think it would be a hard fix, my friends Lexus IS with leather seats havent even been cleaned or touched with leather condition and no bubbling.. Theres probably thousands of other cars whose leather doesnt have the same problem. Even my uncles 89 300CE mercedes has no problems with bubbling, its cracked like crazy, but no bubbling..
