Will this affect any downforce?

I was thinking of getting this roof spoiler, but it seem to be a bit too big to fit on the roof? Will this affect any downforce at all? Or is it just like an add-on for nothing?

heres the link:
☺ INFINITI PAINTED G35 4D IV V36 EXTREME ROOF SPOILER on eBay.ca (item 270483506838 end time 06-Nov-10 03:00:03 EDT)

Thanks!

great cosmetic modification, will not do anything for downforce.

Of course it's going to increase drag. Are you racing this car?

You'll most likely get more drag than downforce from that spoiler.

Nah, I'm not trying to race my car. I only want to get it for like a cosmetic modification. Would u mind me asking how does drag affect the car? Will it slow the car down when I accerlerate?

Absolutely it will slow down your acceleration. But in reality only a tiny amount, and not enough for you to feel or notice unless you're measuring it in a wind tunnel at really high speeds. In everyday driving it's effect is completely inconsequential.

That thing is cosmetic. And of questionable aesthetic value at that IMO.

^^^

What BB said. Drag force goes as speed squared, so there won't be a big difference at low speeds. But since you said its for cosmetics only, if you like the way it looks then go for it.

it will increase drag but nothing substantial for what it seems like you are going to be doing with the car. that being said, i think it looks cool and would be a nice add on.

As was posted before, that part is just for looks and isn't going to do anything performance wise, positive or negative, that you will feel in everyday driving.
