Interior Accent Lighting Kit(s)?

Infiniti's "interior accent lighting" kit?

Is it just to produce indirect lighting under the dash area in the front seat? Simple to install?....is there a plug under the dash already waiting for it?

It adds a low but nice ambient light to the foot area on both sides. You have to do some dash area (lower and glove box) unassembly but it's easy. You also have to drill for the LED's but that is easy (get the progressively sized drill bit). The electrical plugs into the glove box light harness. The glove box light is tied to the head lights (aka, only comes on when the headlights are on).

Other have done their own thing as the OEM one is overpriced .... but well worth it IMHO. It looks nice .... others will argue the opposite.

You must patrol the lighting thread like a hawk G-Man. Whenever it's a lighting question you're all over it, and I wouldn't expect any less

thanks for the heads up...I think I just saw the kit online for like $100. Too steep given what the kit consists of? Is there a better put together option that puts out better light?

Just tryin to snazz up the inside....

You don't want more light, it would be too distracting and look rice (IMHO). The OEM kit is just the right amount of light. You could buy LED's and wire it up yourself. You won't have the harness splitter and good luck if you ever have an interior electrical issue ..... you know the first thing they will blame it on. $100 is a good price, think I paid $132 for mine from either Sewell or Riverside.

A cheaper "snazz" is to replace the interior lights with LED's .... lots of posts. I have one that is fairly comprehensive. I was going to suggest the illuminated sills too but that costs more than the ambient kit.

Yeh, I agree that too much light would have adverse affects and I definitely do not want anything remotely referred to as ricey. This is a pure class sports sedan and will remain that way. Wiring up my own kit isn't gonna happen....I'd eff it up somehow and so pre-made kits are the only option. I'm thinking of tackling the light replacement project inside too. True that the pure white LED's look the best? Does that go for the stone interior as well? Probably do it in waves starting with the dome/map/visors and work my way to the floor....or is it that easy that I should just buy all the lights at once and get after it one afternoon?
