2010/11 fog lamps

Do you guys keep your fog lamps on with your head lights all the time regardless if there is a fog? im referring to the '10 and '11 models where the lamp is seperate from the head lights.

is this a stupid question?

I just changed my settings or just use the regular headlights during the day... I don't want too much stress on the fogs, as I have swapped them out for HID. I only use the fogs for dark areas or not night time driving, where the extra light is needed.

I only use it when it's too dark outside.

I leave it on all the time at night driving. Though mine is factory halogen but if u got hid i wouldn't use it all the time. I wonder those with HID fogs still have their housing not burnt by the increase in temperature.

i leave them on all the time. it doesnt really bother on coming drivers and its a little extra light on the road....theres no downsides to it.

on my Jag ill turning on my rears, but they are annoyingly bright lol. Sometimes if they are off and someones riding on my ***, ill turn them on because they look like i hit the brake

Still waiting for the relay kit to keep them on without the Headlights. I had 3000k HID's in the FOGs on my other car, and kept them on all the time. I never burnt out the HIDs or the burned the housing. I think if you get low wattage HID's like 35w you will be ok to leave them on often.

same as scott, here.
i've switched the H8 fogs out for some hids, so i try to use them too often - stain the ballast and battery, since it's high output. typically, i'll use them when there aren't any street lights, or other cars around me (windshield tinted).

...or when i drive aggressively, once in a...blue moon?

I swapped the bulbs only and leave them on at all times, when the headlights are on.

If my headlights are on, my fog lights ar on. I have 6000k hid headlights and fog lights. My housing is still in good shape and i do Alot of nighttime driving. I would think the halogen bulb gets just as hot, if not hotter than a HID bulb. Correct me if im wrong.
