fog light help

Hello Everyone,

I hit junk on the freeway which slightly cracked my front lip (needs a little patch work, not noticeable) and it did something to my driver's side fog light which no longer works. Not quite sure if a connection was disrupted or not since the light shows no superficial damage.

Anyway, rather than getting the light fixed at the stealership, i wanted to simply replace my bulbs with something a little more white to match my headlights. I wanted to know what you all recommend i set up to get what i want.

I want the following:

1. New bulbs that match my headlights.
2. The type of set up i should get (including ballasts if necessary)

Thanks everyone.

if you stay halogen, you just need the bulb. If you go HID (that will match your headlights the best) you will need a ballast kit. Most HID kits come with the ballast and everything needed.

I got mine from HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning in 6000K and they are awesome. They match the 6000K headlights I got from the same place.

It is super easy to install the HID kit on your own, takes maybe 30 mins for both sides

It isn't that easy on the 2010! You have to disassemble the fender liner and find a good mounting spot for the HID transformers. And on the passenger side, there's the interference around the washer tank to deal with. It can certainly be done (I did it), but it's gonna take more than 30 minutes!

This is why you need to mount the ballasts inside the engine compartment.

I got the Apexcone Raptor kit, 55W. But if you have the sedan you will need to use the 35W kit.

here is the link: HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning

and you DO NOT need an HID harness or Error code eliminator.

Yes, H8 is what you want. Make sure you're getting the 35 Watt kit, though, your electrical system can't handle 55 Watt.

I'd be weary about ordering from DDM, though. My first order with them was a screw-up and they have yet to email me back to fix it. I ordered two sets of H1 bulbs and two sets of D2S. They sent me completely wrong colored bulbs. And when I emailed them to get it fixed, they have completely ignored me. It was a complete waste of $60 just to save a buck. Buy crap, pay twice.
