Hi, I am picking up my g37x coupe Monday. It has the chrome thing on the back (nav, premium, tech car).
I am looking at adding a spoiler as it looks much better.. (LINK BELOW)
Infiniti G37 Coupe 08 - 10 Factory Spoiler Color: K52: eBay Motors (item 170476619489 end time Jun-21-10 13
10 PDT)
$129 painted & shipped...and the seller has great reviews. I need K52 for blue slate and he said that one has opening for a camera..
Here is the back of my car

My questions:
1) Has anyone tried putting spoiler on with 3M tape? On my SL600 Mercedes, I added the SL63 trunk lip/spoiler and this was with 3m tape.
2) Also, do I NEED to remove the chrome piece before adding the spoiler?
3) Has anyone used this spoiler place before for this?
I don't mind spending a bit more money for a guaranteed better product.. but I have bought many spoiler types on ebay for various cars and all sellers had a similar rating to this guy and the products were really nice.
Any help at all is appreciated, I think the car looks bad without 1, so I want to put 1 on ASAP!!!!
TIA,
Mike

Different people have different views about ebay...I am very wary of buying things for the G off ebay. I would look at riverside Infiniti, and they sell all their stuff on ebay as well, that is the one place I will buy from.
If it is OEM, then yes you will have to remove the chrome piece and it will go one with screws. if its not OEM then it'll probably be 3M tape and depending on the quality, should hold up.
When it really comes down to it for stuff like a spoiler I would make sure to get quality. Check out Autokits-X new spoiler that fits over the chrome piece too!
GL hope that helps

lol you searched and couldn't find it? I searched "autokits-x spoiler" and it was one of the first results...https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-cou...e-spoiler.html
PM Alex, they usually come unpainted but he's always painted the pieces I've bought from him for a small charge extra (much less than having it painted on your own)

I think I'm either the first to notice or just painfully mistaken, but in the ebay link it says
"Do not guess
this is for the G37s without backup camera equipped from the factory"
and your car.. has a backup camera.

You will not be at all happy with that particular spoiler you linked to on eBay. Te factory spoiler costs about $550 or so I think (or it did on '08 when I purchased). That one is $129 painted including shipping. The finish quality and fitment will be horrible and you will regret wasting your money if you buy it. Trust me.

$129 may not be enough to even pay for a quality paint job on a spoiler, let alone the part itself and the shipping of it. Considering how many folks have posted their dissatisfaction with the fit and finish of various aftermarket spoilerswhen they got them, I can't see why anyone would get anything other than OEM.
The OP is a new guy so cut him some slack.
Hey Mikey, here's some advice that will serve you well in modding the G. Don't buy $129 painted spoilers from eBay, they will look and fit like poo. Don't buy a set of $700 Volk knockoffs, no matter how many guys tell you that they will be "good enough"; it's just asking for trouble. That performance chip that gives you +75 HP and +20 MPG is a resistor from Radio Shack that costs $1.50 and does nothing for your car.
You can buy some decent parts from some vendors on eBay, but you have to be really careful.
