2010 G37X - Can the Lighted Kick Plates be added by Dealer?
i took possession of my new 2010 G37X with premium and Navi Packages with Splash Guards but no lighted kick plates. Another car dealer offered me the same car with the kick plates, but I didn't trust their Dealing behavior - very suspicious even for NY. (see my post on the leasing story in other section of this forum).
Anyway... can this be done or is it solely a "factory" item?

This is not a dealer only installed item. I have an 08 sedan and the kick plates werent even an option. I bought mine from EverythingG35.com. I then installed them myself, since its pretty straight forward.

yes they can be added by the dealer but it is better if you just install them yourself. the time for labor that they charge for anything is expensive and the install really isnt too hard as i did it myself.
its hard to order every car with accessories that not everyone will want...i.e.-- midnight grille, front chin spoilers, splash guards, kick platees... either way it can be installed at the dealership
I am interested in this as well, I think it looks hella cool. So how much does this usually cost to install at the dealership? And if I go the DIY route, do the instructions come with the part when you order it? How long does it take to install it?
Its not that bad of an install and yes instructiones do come with the kit when you buy it from the dealership. The dealer most likely charge two or three hours to install them, so multiply that by the labor rate and your probably better off doing it yourself.
