Seat Bubble

I know there are tons of threads about this already but I do have a very specific question.

For those of you that got the seat replaced due to the bubble what did you say or do to get it replaced.

I have a 09 G37S with 3500km's on it and I have a bubble on the seat in which the dealer advised was totally normal.

I understand it may be normal but I dont think it should be acceptable.

Also for those of you that had it replaced, did it come back or is there new seats that solve the problem?

Thanks
-Devin

I agree. Not acceptable. But the answer to your last question is no. A new seat doesn't fix the problem, the bubble will come back from what I've read. Which is why I have no interest in having mine replaced. What's the point. The less anyone touches my car, the better

At least you have 3500km on yours, I got my 1st seat bubble within the 1st 2 weeks of ownership

When it went for its 1st service the dealer did something because for a day or so, it was gone, and it came right back again and has been there ever since.

These seat bubbles are most likely a Sport Seat issue for my 08 was non sport and the seats were like new when I let it go.

Infiniti seats and paint, please do this right next time

I have seen this bubble on every G37 out there. Its a stiff cardboard panel built in the leather that warps and replacing it will only work for a short time. I suggest you all stop crying about trivial stuff like a small bump that you can only notice if your looking for it!

Only notice if you are looking for it, its obvious you have not seen what it looks like.

Oh, one more thing...

Picked up my xS yesterday and sure enough, those creases were already on the seat. 10 miles on the ODO.

If the bubble is noticeably larger or different on one of the four seat cushion panels (driver and passenger seats), you should be able to get the defective one replaced. I had that situation on the passenger seat of my '09 G37xS (5000 km.) and it was replaced under warranty, no problem. The new one is looking great so far. However, if you have similar bubbling on all four panels, you're probably out of luck as this is considered "normal".

I bought my 09 G37s coupe last week and the seats looked fine. However, after driving it for 8 hours over the past 2 days, I noticed a seat bubble similar to the ones described in this thread. I guess it goes away after a while and reappears after driving the car for a long time. Anyways, I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow morning hoping the get it fixed/replaced. The only problem is that my local dealership is infamous for letting customers know that "It's normal". We'll see what happens.

My 2010 G with 29,000 miles does not have this problem. That said, I owned a 2004 Acura TL a few years back that did this.....I reported it to the dealer and they indicated it was "normal" for leather to bubble. After looking at other TL's of the same vintage, I determined it was indeed normal for that car.

No bubble on mine so far, guess I got lucky to have the hide from better part of a cow. The 335 x-drive I have test driven had a huge bubble with only 400 miles on the clock.

I was reading a few related threads and it seems like the bubble is caused by excessive use of the seat heater. I had the heater on throughout my 8 hour ride so it makes sense. Hopefully I can get it fixed because Im pretty pissed that this happened within the first two weeks of owning the car!
