Tinted Headlights!

I have had my lights tinted for a while... I've decided to finally put them up, I've also done some exhaust mods to which I'll put the videos up soon, Muffler Delete to be exact... but here's the tinted lights

and here's the pic with a friends car...

Painted housings are the best way to deal with headlights IMO. That would get you pulled over here in about 5 seconds....

Luckily, here in CT, the cops don't really pay too much attention to the lights, specifically my back ones, which are completely blacked out. Besides their dark enough for someone to notice their dark, but not dark enough for a cop to mind. I've even seen people with completely black headlights...

Here we go again---worrying about the cops pulling you over and not a second thought about the safety factor. I’ve never understood that mindset.

What's safety if you don't enjoy how your car looks? lol
Plus if the lights shine through fine, what's the big deal?

Well, at least you’re honest about it, i.e., you seem to be saying it’s OK to compromise safety as long as the car looks good. But don’t you understand how ridiculous that sounds?

As far as the lights shining through just fine, even you don’t believe that. You cannot defy the laws of physics. They dictate that if you dim the lights on an automobile then less light goes through. And less light transmitted that would otherwise be available results in a compromise. To what degree? I don’t know for sure, but I would hate to be on the same road as you one dark night to find out. Either you could kill some hapless person you didn’t’ quite see soon enough, or another car could rear end yours due to blacked out tail lights. Your car that used to “look good” could be a twisted pile of scrap metal and you could end up serving 20 years for vehicular manslaughter. And that, my friend, is the big deal.

Ok now for sure if you tint the headlights, you will have less output, it's pure logic and physics. But to say you are putting other peoples life in danger because of it is a little too much.

I'm sure these tinted headlights have a better output than many 10 year old cars that are on the road today yet no one seems worried about the people those cars might run over due to poor visibility.

I have never been a fan of tinted headlights, it just looks cheap.

Your point is well taken. Headlight output on modern cars is much better than it was years ago. But it still seems illogical to me to take that advancement and cancel it out.

It’s like that old story of the guy who was so proud of his Olympic gold metal that he had it bronzed.

If safety is your number one concern to that extreme (not that there's anything wrong with it), I don't know why you would buy a G. Did you know that research has shown that a silver car is the safest for both yourself and others? You should get it in silver.

P.S.: Sorry, I'm not trying to engage in a debate to defend anyone nor am I trying to state that your points are not valid, but I just feel that a fellow G owner is kind enough to take the time to take and upload a pic to share with G enthusiasts, we should cut him some slack and not slam it.

The G actually has a very high safety rating.

Yes, yes ... but not the safest to the extreme for slamming others.

I'm all for "slamming" things like this. It's an unsafe and most likely illegal "modification".
