Hello everyone,

I just picked up my new 2009 Infiniti G37 yesterday. Love the car except I wanted to get the sport and the dealership couldn't locate one with my color combination. It came with the sport 19" wheels but now I am looking to add the sport front bumper. The dealer told me I was looking at about $1200 just for parts because you need additional pieces for installation, has anyone done this installation or conversion that can help me out? I would really appreciate it

You can get sport bumper covers with MINOR damage on ebay (i.e. a few small scratches, but can be smoothed out and then painted to match your car) for like $160... I was going to pick one up and order the rest of the parts from the dealer, but am probably going to wait until the spring. I think that going that route (ebay bumper + paint) and then ordering the other various components needed to mount the bumper from the dealer would run you under $1000... all depends on how much the other parts cost though.

 

i did it on a somebody's coupe and everything the same except for 2 bolts won't fit.

 

wait for the aero kit bumper and be the first vert with it on!

 

how much is that gonna run for the full kit?

Wow $1200 my @ss. Check this thread, I just posted links for someone else looking to replace their sport bumper. Don't know what "supporting pieces" need to be bought but the bumper cover itself can be had for less than 300.

I'm also interested in coverting from my X bumper to the S... but holding it off since I already spent some cash on rims/tires/suspension.

If anyone does eventually try this conversion please post details about any problems, additional needed parts and total pricing...

Hey guys, I was just at the dealer today, the bumper itself with all additional parts is going to cost approx. $425, that includes the bottom mesh and new absorber and brackets, they are charging me approx. $300 for the install and its costing me another $225 through a friend of mine at a body shop to have the grille painted black and to paint the bumper

 

Hey guys I found a site online that sells the bumper fors $238, it is infiniti parts warehouse, but they are located in CA and shipping to NY would have cost me close to $200 so I went through the dealer

 

$300 for installation?! What color is your G? If your color is black, white, or either of the grays (liquid or platinum graphite) the body shop is probably going to have an issue matching the bumper to the fenders.

does dealer do the paint? if install from the dealer?
Ive got a Blue Slate, and planning to get a Sports kit, just worry about the local shops can't done a good paint job for it
