dual vs single filament (7440/7443)

whats the difference (besides the obvious (1 vs 2 filaments)...i want to get the full chrome turn signal bulb but i see both of these mentioned on this site....did search but found no explanation...

dual filament means the bulb has 2 filaments so that one can act as a parking light and one be a turn signal (or think of it as a bulb that can be low beam and high beam). there is no benefit to it unless your housing requires it.
