Auto drivers seat and steering wheel

I just traded a 2006 G35X for a 2009 G37 convertible. On the G35 there was a feature that every time you shut the car, the driver's seat would go back all the way and the steering wheel would rise to the uppermost position. When the car was started, the seat and wheel would go back to their last position. Do any of you folks know if this feature is still available? Thanks

Are we talking about 09 models right now? Or does this also apply to the new '10 coupes/convertibles as well?

Maybe the seat doesn't move back automatically as the driver exits so it doesn't potentially crush or press a rear passenger's legs? (But then again, how far back does the seat move? I don't think it would really hurt anyone in the back) And when the driver gets out first, he presses the button on the shoulder of the seat to make room for the passenger to exit.

Anyone else thinking differently? I mean, I don't think Infiniti just LEFT it out. That'd make them look lazy.
Yes, this is true for 08/09 coupes, I can't say for sure on 2010's but I would venture to guess it is absent in the 10 coupe as well.

And what you said about not crushing the person in back might actually not be too far off. If you move your seat all the way back, there is only about 2-3 inches in between the seat back and the back seat. It could potentially hurt someone.

I don't think they just left it out, but I do wish they had put it in. However, that being said, I love my coupe and can live w/o that one amenity in order to have all the benefits of the coupe

No coupes ever had it, only the sedans have it.

And yes the coupes dont have it because itll crush anyone sitting in the back.

If you dont need memory seat setting 2, you can prog that to have the seat a lil back and the wheel up, then before you get out you hit it and they move.

I made the same switch as you, 06x to 37coupe, and missed this option, i did the mem seat thing for about a month and then just got used the seat and wheel not moving and i have no issues.

Good call Stoof!! I hadn't even thought about using the second memory setting...I'll have to try that and see how I like it

I linked my key to memory 2 where the seat is all the way back and steering wheel up. That way, whenever I unlock the car my seat and steering wheel open up for me to sit in comfortably. Once I'm in the car, I hit memory 1 on the car (which has my driving position stored) and vroom I go.

actually if you look at other coupes. a lot of them don't have it either, like the 335i and A5/S5 don't have it. it's probably because of the 60/40 folding seats. but yeah likewise they were left out of the G37 coupes. it was a feature for the sedans only.

but yeah your driving position must be pretty snug if you have a hard time getting out of a coupe... setting 2 is an idea, but for me setting 2 is my reverse mirror setting so I don't curb my wheels !

well I am 6'2" 215 and have TONS of stretching room when I drive, it's more just that it is a cool little extra for the seat and steering wheel to open up and give you kind of an exit way when getting out of the car IMHO
