i just feel like once they put the tint down and then you go back and want to get darker and they have to take the tint off it will mess up the window when u take it off and the new tint might look funny because of the glue and whatever they use on the window?

lol I don't really know how to answer why 20% isnt dark enough just kinda think I'd like something darker

and I know that 15% is noticeably darker than 20% b/c the % refers to the amount of sunlight it lets through, so by getting tint that is rated 15% vs 20%, it lets in 25% less sunlight (plus the fact that I've seen 15% side by side with mine and it is definitely darker)

it depends on what you what. you for sure need to spend money on your tints so that you get a good result. if you want to go really dark some places will layer two 35% films on your windows. that comes out to 12.5%. my friend has this on his 335 and the results are amazing. dont skimp out on any aspect of your car but the shop should be able to accomodate what you want to do.

I had 20% and was given a fix-it ticket. I had the tint removed and re tinted later(same darkness).

To what da mayor mentioned, how it comes off can vary. My car had been tinted for 3-4 years and our summers have several days over 100 degrees. It still took less than 30 minutes to have tint removed and cleaned up. For me, it was also only the drivers and passengers side windows which should be the easiest for a Z install.

If you just had it done it should come off easily. I would expect to pay for the removal and reapplication though... Unless you throw a lot of business to your tinting shop.

i used to tint a little and removing them from windows is no brainer. def. something you can do at home. the tint glue comes off with window cleaners that contain ammonia (like windex)

the only problem is the rear windshield due to the defrost lines. you have to be careful scrubbing the glue residue off as to not damage those defrost lines.

Infiniti,

No I'm not worried at all. I've said it many times in many threads, you get what you pay for. If you take it to a reputable, quality shop there will be zero problems taking tint off and re-applying it

I've been meaning to get mine re-done but been too busy and right now it's not that much of a big deal. I have 30/15 f/b (legal limits here) and do not like it at all. My previous car I had 10% all around and that was about right for sunny FLA. Since the stealership did such a crappy job its made the decision to go darker a lot easier, just got to find the time to get it done...

uhm... can you help me understand your statement? I'm no rocket surgeon but; if 15% film lets through 15% of light and 20% lets through 20% of light, if you go from 15 to 20 isn't the difference 5%?

yes, you are correct in that the difference between 20% and 15% is 5%. however the actual amount of sunlight coming through is 25% less.

If you start with 20% tint and lower it by 5% (which gives you 15% tint) that 5% drop is a 25% drop in the total amount of light that comes through. 5% is 1/4 of 20%...does that make sense?

Please dont think I'm trying to be an a$$ or insult your intelligence...just trying to explain it so that its understandable
