Question Kick plates

Can you change the lights on the illuminated kick plates? Searching turned up that the lighting was by circuit board VS just a simple bulb. Can any experts chime in on any options? Would like to go blue.

My friend had the stock illuminated plates, and I believe he changed his lights to match with some cool white bulbs he put in. I'll have to ask him.

Please, if you could.

I think I will order the new kick plates this week. Hopefully by the time they get in, I will have some ideas.

The illuminated kick plates are pretty white stock. Not sure how you can add a light to them to make them whiter that what they already are.

No need to replace the LED's.
Just take it apart and slide a gel in the display area.

The LED's are surface mount and hard to change. On top of the black portion that says "Infiniti" you can slide in a colored gel and make it any color you want. If you want blue use a darker shade to look better.

Thanks for the reply. I saw this earlier by doing a search but I was hoping there was an easier way.
I think that would be too tricky for me. It seems like it would be hard to get the colour uniform right across.
I guess stock it is.

Frankly .... IMHO I think they look pretty good as is. Even though you get used to them as an owner, people do notice them and comment.

I agree they are cool. I have had them in my M for four years and really like them. I was just wondering if you could dress it up a bit. I kept my M 100% original for four years. I want to do something different with the G. Nothing crazy, as it is leased, but just a little bit of personalization.

I don't know if you understand. With colored gel, it is a tinted transparent film. Like window tint but other colors. You can't mess up the uniformity. You can get the colored gels at a camera store. Think of night club lights. I am doing it to a friends pieces and will do a DIY. It is really easy.

Could you post a link to where someone can buy it to see what it looks like?
I appreciate the effort!

Colour filters!! Even I can get that one.
Buy a sheet for $7 bucks, cut to fit and you are there. I will start looking locally.
Thanks for the education! This is why I love the internet.
