damp driver side carpet / footwell due to poor quality OEM All-season mats?

I've noted today while cleaning my 2009 G37x sedan that the driver side carpet was damp. It has been snowing quite a bit past 2 weeks, and I notice that the OEM all-season mats don't exactly have a tall edge-border, and am wondering if it is possible that the water is overflowing over the mats when the car is at certain angles or inclines?

Any one else have similar issues with the OEM all-season mats?

The other alternative would be to entertain scary possibilities of improper seals, block A/C drain lines, etc. I'm going to dry the carpets, and turn on my A/C for some time, and then take it to the touchless car wash this week, and see if the carpets become damp.

Could be the mats but it could also be the gromet behind the dash. Few ppl had leaks from there due to improper techniques during alarm installation or audio.
