Is there any way to turn that off? or possibly change the color? I'm not talking about the dome/map lights but that tiny hole near the controls. Thanks.

It's on any time the lights are on; no way to turn it off except dimming the interior lights all the way. I guess you could plug the hole with something if it bothers you.

Funny that it bothers you..I actually love it and would like to make it brighter! Has anybody changed this bulb to a brighter one?

I think you're the first who doesnt like it haha. I LOVE the ambient lighting at night. The subtle glow on the center console is very classy and gives the appearence the car is glowing but you cant really tell where the source of light is coming from. Im sure like anything you could find a way to remove the bulb and solder in a different color high ohm led but would it be worth the trouble?? Thats all up to you

i may be one of the few who want it off. I like my interior dark as possible. My gauges are set at the dimmest (while still being lit up), and i turn off the navi screen. The ambient light near the moonroof controls is the only thing still lighting up the center console.

I'm not going to plug it with something though.

I'm digging how on the 3-series that same light (color and all) is installed underneath the outside door handles so when you unlock the car it illuminates where the door handle is.

as such:

i dont have the gauges too dimmed or the nav off, but i do like the darker interior..i cover that light with my finger and i like how it darkens the interior more. i might put some black electrical tape on there haha
