Horn won't stop blaring - both of them!

I am not sure what is going on, but having major electrical issues. I will be getting it to a dealer, but I need to have it working for now so I can get it to the dealer.

I put a new battery in thinking maybe, just maybe, that was the root of the electrical issues. When I went to hook up the NEG terminal to the battery - the horn started to blare. It's not the repeating sound like when the alarm goes off - just a solid, blaring noise.

I took out the 10 and 15A fuses for both the horns to stop the noise. But how do I reset them so I can put the fuses back in and not having them going off.

Thank you!

Don't reset them. Keep the fuses out and take it to your dealership that way. Just before you drive up, stop and put them back in. Drive it into the service department with the horn blaring and let them deal with it. That way it won't be a situation of "could not duplicate the condition".

I would love to do that - but no local dealer. And I kinda need my horn. You know how to reset them?

I called Grubbs Infiniti and spoke to a "tech" I was told. He said he has no idea how they are just blaring without the alarm going on. Told me to let them go off and then unlock the car just like turning off the security alarm. But that didn't work. So he was stuck and said he would have to see it. Might just have it towed as it again, but would really rather fix it myself and go from there.

Nobody on this forum has ever mentioned the issue have before, so no, I don't know how to reset them and I doubt anyone else here will. You must use your horn a lot for some reason?

With the electronics issues you've been having, it seems like you really should make getting your car into a dealership a priority; even if it's inconvenient.

Good luck!

Rarely use the horn, but failed state inspection today due to the non-functioning horn. Gonna try a diff place that hopefully isn't so detailed.

Infiniti dealer is in my future, just got grad research going on that is daily - can't miss a day or its ruined. Should be done around December 9-10th. Then off to dealer!

You can't find anywhere that will allow you to pass state inspection without a working horn. It's illegal. Unless you know an inspection place or mechanic where you have the hookup. Most of the shady ones tend to be leery of people they don't know because you might be an undercover for the state trying to bust them. I hope it works out for you. Electronics issues suck.
