Debadging my g

I wanted to remove the Infiniti lettering from the back of my g37s. What is the best solvent to remove the sticky. I was told goo gone works good. Any suggestions?

Thanks

From personal experience, a heat gun will soften and almost melt the adhesive making the letters very easy to pull right off. After the letters are off, I used the heat gun again to soften the glue that was left and wiped it all off with 70% isopropyl alcohol on a microfiber towel.

+1

or you can use Goo Gone once you have the letters off.

I've also heard that turtle wax bug and tar remover works well too.

Used the heat gun on the first letter but didn't even bother with the rest. Fishing line works great for removing emblems. With a little rubbing of a microfiber cloth and goo gone all the mess cleaned right off. Came out good I think.

Did you leave the Infiniti emblem and G37 lettering, and just remove the INFINITI? If so, can you take a pic? I was thinking about doing this.

Yeah. I removed just the Infiniti lettering and left they symbol and g37s emblems on the back. It looks awesome but it's too dark out right now to get a picture. I'll try to post one tomorrow for you.

The infiniti symbol is the hardest piece to get off. Fishing line and a hairdryer works pretty good.

Goo gone to clean up the mess.

Hair drier and fishing line work great for removing the emblems and a little WD 40 on a micro fibe cloth to remove the residue adhesive

If all that fails you can use a chisel and a high speed grinder.

Not the best pic, but you get the idea of what it looks without all the badges. Heat gun, floss, Goo Gone and a micro fiber towel did the trick.

Whatever you do, it may be wise to save the removed letters so you can put them back when you eventually sell the car so the next owner won’t think you drove it roughly.

I considered that, but the adhesive gets destroyed and I don't know how one would go about sticking them back on without the stock adhesive. You can buy the kit from the dealer with all the letters with the adhesive on them.

Mine looks the same. I believe i peeled the letters off and did some isopropyl 70% and some goo gone and then polished it because it left a haze. Now you cant tell where the letters were
