Exclamation Infiniti Accent Lighting Kit

My brothers 335xi has this along with my friends M3, I want to be able to have my driver and passenger side leg area lit up with this ambient lighting Infiiniti offers. My question is, will the light match that of center console accent light? and also has anyone done this to their car yet? Im planning on Infiniti installing this once I buy it but is it really worth the $150? Feedback is appreciated. thanks guys

Have you contacted your dealer to get an installation estimate on this item? I'd like to have this feature too. Let us know if you get some more information. Maybe one of the guys from Riverside Infiniti that are on here will chime in with some answers.

The accent lighting really adds a feeling of luxury to the car. I love it! It is definitely worth the money if you ask me.

I also got the kit, but installed it myself. Paid ~$120 for the kit. Dealer estimated 2 hours of labor, so that'd be upwards of $200, which wasn't worth it. It's basically removing the various dash pieces and strategically placing the lights to certain connectors. You will need to drill two panels to insert the light, and will need to use fishtape to run one of the wires from the passenger side to the drivers side.

I love the lighting. As willio10244 said, it adds a feeling of luxury. The light color is exactly the same as the one that shines on the center console.

Took a few quick pics of this. Since I wanted to simulate what the lights look like if you were driving at night, I turned off all external lights, so the pics were hard to take, and thus, noisy. The pics are attached to the thread.

It appears that the accent lights are a different color than that of the light shining on the center color. It's just some funkiness with the camera. When you see it in person, the colors will look exactly the same: cool white. And an important thing to note is that the accent lights are dimmer than the instruments on the AV panel.

Hope this helps.

dammn that does look awesome! I think i may seriously consider this considering most of my commuting is done at night..

Is there a specific place per instructions where the lights are installed or is it anywhere?

They're cheaper here: http://www.infiniti-parts.com/catalo...ent%20Lighting

Does anyone have the instructions for this? I bought the kit from Sewell a while ago but haven't been able to install because I'm on deployment. So the kit is just sitting at home in the box.

The instructions are pretty specific. Since it's an OEM kit, the instructions are in the same style as the service manual. Unfortunately, I threw mine out, but I remember that half of the instructions were the same exact steps in the service manual on how to remove the various dash pieces. The instructions will call out where to drill on the dash pieces, and which connectors to tap into.

I've got it in my car- i negotiated it into the car, after I took delivery. I will say they are sweet. Mine aren't turned the right way, so I am going to fix that. Definately worth the $120 imo. If you change your dome lights and door lights to the superbrightled led's, they will match those perfectly.

I got this from Rick@Riverside Infiniti and installed it myself. It requires next to no skills other than drilling two holes. The instruction says to aim the LED to the front of the car. On the passenger side I turned it to point toward the rear. It looks nice but the light is dimmer than I thought. I'm thinking of replacing the light with something brighter. I'll see if I scan and attach the manual here.
