I'm 19. This is my first car lol. I was getting tierd to riding the bus and wasting time so my mom got it for me as a gift.

Btw, whats a latching mechanism and how do I inspect it?

Try pulling the release one more time and making sure the latch is "open". If you accidentally managed to flip the latch into the closed position (while the seats were down) it won't close.

Wow, you better do anything your Mom asks you to do. Here son, you can have this $40K+ car as your first ever. What is this world coming to, damn. She definitely loves you, lol.

The latch is the what the seat hooks to so it doesn't fall down. Find the metal ring on the back of the seat and look where that would hook into the trunk area. That's the latch.

Not gonna read through everything but If you still haven't resolved your back seat issue do the following:

-Pop the trunk
-ensure the seat release is pushed all the way in
-Finally, get in the car and slam the seat back into place

I hear the owner's manual does a pretty good job at describing this issue and how to fix it.

*knock knock* "Who's there?" "FIXED IT!"

I'm not sure what the problem was but this morning I tried slamming the seats again and it made that magical clicking sound. LOL
I swear I've slammed them harder before.. I don't know how this is possible!
